Matthew Clarke is an illustrator, graphic designer, writer and educator from Barbados. He has experience creating editorial cartoons for the local Heat newspaper and has authored and illustrated his own 150 page graphic novel Heartman: The Bakers Ridge Horror and is a co-founder of the comic publishing company, Beyond Publishing Caribbean. Matthew’s achievements include NIFCA awards in Visual Art categories, Addy Awards and in 2022 a Russ Manning Award Nomination. He has a unique style of illustration and is quite creative in his ability to express Barbadian or Caribbean detail. Matthew and Nigel Lynch have kicked off their professional comic careers with the 208 page, Graphic Novel: Hardears, published by Abrams Publishing’s imprint: Megascope Books.
